Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actor best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the series on television The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor as well as a producer. She has a long-standing involvement on television and in theater. She began her acting career with theater, and was later featured on a variety of TV series as well as mainstream and independent film. She gained acclaim as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she won praise from critics but also several nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. Her first professional performance was as Ariel in The Tempest. Some stage credits consist of Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production written by Joe Turner.
